Challenge 1

Photography Element: composition – shooting everything in your frame on purpose. Subjects: Easy: tea Med: feet Hard: music

Here are my photos:

Easy: tea

I love tea. My new favorite is chamomile.

A glass of iced tea.

Medium: feet

My kids' feet, Kaitlynn and Evan.

Kaitlynn's feet. She loves flip flops!

Hard: music:

Our i pods. I love how the pink just pops with the silver.

The bell of Ashley's bass clarinet.

My tip:
This is a tip from a photography class I took in college.

Try to see things in an unfamiliar way. See things in a way that they might look. Imagine the possibilities. Loose control of your common sensibilities. Leave your inhibitions as you pick up your camera. Find a new visual definition of an object.

I like the teapot shot too! Very good tip:) I usually just point and shoot, and these challenges does make me think of ways to shoot differently.

Hi Elizabeth!!! Great photos!!! The ones that really stand out to me are: the first tea shot - great angle, composition, and lighting. I think this is a great product shot! And, your ipods are amazing! I love the fact that you put them on a music sheet! That was very creative!

I like the point of view on the glass of tea. As far as compositions.. I love the feet in the blue flip flops. There's really strong lines there and it works well I think.

The tea kettle shot looks like it could be an advertisement. Great job with the arrangement!

You really can see the reflection of the trees and sky in the ice tea glass. I like the different textures (smoothness of the glass and liquid against the wood grain).

I like how the shadows of the kids' feet hit the pavement. I like how Kaitlynn's flip flops pop.

I like the ipod composition and how the foreground and background are blurred. The pink one really pops out a a focal point.

I like the photo looking down the bell of Ashley's clarinet. I like that it is ambiguous.

Great job!
